At the construction site of the drawbridge in Sobieszewo, piling work is currently being carried out, including the plunging of pile casing pipes onto supports. At the same time, sheet piling work is being carried out on the Wiślinka side of the existing pontoon bridge. Earthworks connected with the construction of an embankment from the side of Pruszcz Gdanski are also in progress. Reconstruction of all branches (sanitary, electrical and teletechnical) of the access road to the bridge (widening) is in progress. Prefabrication of the steel structure of the drawbridge spans has also started in our manufacturing plant in Gdynia. This complex production process will last until mid-August this year.

The new bridge is being built next to the old pontoon bridge on the Dead Vistula, a few dozen metres to the west of it. This means that during the entire construction period the entrance to the Sobieszewska Island will run over the old bridge and the traffic should not be hindered. The new structure will be a low-water drawbridge. This means that its height above the water level will be about 5 metres and the middle span will open for navigation. Time required for opening: 2 minutes. The contractor for the bridge is a consortium of companies: Leader – METROSTAV a.s., Partner – VISTAL GDYNIA S.A., Partner – VISTAL INFRASTRUCTURE Sp. z o.o.
