Vistal Group, a leading manufacturer of large-size, specialist steel structures in Poland, executing contracts for clients in Poland and abroad, has signed a significant contract in the infrastructure segment. The subject of the contract is the execution and assembly of the load-bearing structure of the bridge executed under the investment task “Construction of the S7 expressway, section Miłomłyn – Olsztynek, subsection “B” (Ostróda Północ junction – Ostróda Południe junction) from km 9+181.70 to km 18+845, together with the construction of the Ostróda bypass”. The contract worth PLN 71.6 million gross was concluded with Budimex S.A., the general contractor for this task. The contract executed on the section Miłomłyn – Olsztynek involves the construction of a 340-metre-long bridge, including a 197-metre-long arch span, one of the largest bridges of this type in Poland. We are pleased to have signed such a significant contract. It significantly strengthens our order portfolio, which after the third quarter of this year amounts to over 271 million PLN. It is also worth emphasizing that this strengthening occurs in the segment of infrastructure, which we consider particularly promising. The contract with Budimex is also a good prognosis for the coming year, in which we will be able to even more fully and effectively use the new production capacity and technical capabilities, obtained thanks to the completion in 2014 of a very important long-term investment plan for the Group. It is worth noting that the execution of this order is an interesting engineering challenge due to, among other things, the size of the project, the technology and the method of installing the structure in marshy areas. Thanks to the experience and investments we have gained over the years, we are able to realize even the most complicated and untypical steel constructions – says Ryszard Matyka, the CEO of Vistal Gdynia SA.
