Vistal Group, a leading manufacturer of large-sized, specialised steel structures in Poland, which executes contracts for clients at home and abroad, has won another contract on the Scandinavian market, in Sweden. The contract concluded with HOCHTIEF Infrastructure GmbH based in Germany, Swedish Branch, concerns the execution and installation by Vistal Gdynia SA of the steel structure of bridge objects in Stockholm, in the area of Västberg Allé. The value of the contract is PLN 25.6 million.

We are pleased with the signing of another contract, confirming our credentials and experience in the manufacture and installation of bridges, both in Poland and in foreign markets. This is an important and prestigious contract, which strengthens our backlog this year. The contract was obtained with the participation of our subsidiary in Goteborg, Sweden and is aimed at facilitating further expansion of the Vistal Group in Scandinavia – says Ryszard Matyka, the CEO of Vistal Gdynia SA.

The project investor is the City of Stockholm. The contract concerns the manufacture and installation of a railway viaduct and a pedestrian and bicycle bridge with a total tonnage of 1,300 tonnes. The new structure produced by Vistal will replace the existing concrete structure – Bro över Stambanan from 1961. The viaduct will improve communication in this area of the Swedish capital, and at the same time will be distinguished by both its architectural form and colours.

Production will start in December this year and assembly work at the Stockholm site will be carried out from spring 2016 and will be completed in spring 2017. The specifics of the project require a highly experienced and qualified engineering staff. The assembly of the ordered structure will take place with open rail traffic under the viaduct, and its interruptions, mainly at night, will be very short. Vistal will use three assembly methods: longitudinal sliding, with mobile cranes and heavy lifting of the arch section. More information
