At the beginning of March 2015, VISTAL Group signed 2 new contracts: for the production of a railway bridge over the Stjørdalselva river in the Trondheim area in Norway and the delivery and installation of a steel structure for a pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the city of Bergen in Norway, connecting two banks of the Damsgårdssundet river. The total value of the contracts signed with the two contractors amounts to nearly PLN 17 million. The projects are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The railway bridge in the Trondheim area in Norway is part of the railway investment connecting the airport at Stjørdal with the city of Trondheim. The new bridge will replace an old structure from 1900. The project, with a total weight of 1081 tonnes and a length of about 225 metres, will be manufactured entirely by the VISTAL Group and delivered by road in transport sections to the construction site. The bridge consists of 6 spans, each about 10 m wide. The bridge is scheduled to be completed in December 2015. The contract was signed with a leading company in the Norwegian construction and development market.
The contract for the construction of a drawbridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be carried out as part of a significant infrastructure investment by the city of Bergen in Norway, which aims to improve the organisation of pedestrian traffic by connecting two banks of the Damsgårdssundet river; one of which houses a science centre. The VISTAL Group is responsible for the manufacture and installation of the pedestrian and cycle bridge with a total length of approximately 150 m. The bridge consists of 5 spans, one of which is a drawbridge. The drawbridge will be opened using a special hydraulic system. The total weight of the structure is 403 tonnes. Completion of the works related to the construction and installation of the footbridge is planned for November 2015. The contract was signed with an international construction company.
